The calculation is based on the length of the pipe, its nominal diameter, and the average test pressure applied during the test. The formula takes into account these parameters to provide the allowable leakage in gallons per hour.

Additional Leakage Calculation is used when testing against closed metal-seated valves. The additional leakage allowed is proportional to the nominal size of the valve. This calculation is added to the allowable leakage if a valve size is provided.

Understanding the Parameters:
